Two world famous museums, The Palace Museum (also known as the Forbidden City) and the British Museum, have shown the exhibition named “The United Kingdom and the world: 1714-1830”. The exhibition was displayed in Beijing on the March 9, 2007. As the only partner of the exhibition, Air China provided great support by offering free transport services to deliver the 117 pieces of the exhibit to Beijing, free tickets for relevant staff flying between Beijing and London, and other miscellaneous services. Air China hopes that by supporting the exhibition, it is being socially responsible and promoting the development of international cultural exchange. The Forbidden City is the largest and most complete imperial palace and ancient building complex in China. It is also called the Palace Museum and displays one million precious historical relics. The Palace Museum was made part of the World Cultural Heritage list as one of the top five palaces of the world. The British Museum, which was founded in 1753, is the largest integrated museum in the U.K. The museum houses cultural relics, ancient scrolls and other rarities from around the world. To be connected with Chinese culture and famous palaces, Air China has launched the new service brands, “Forbidden Pavilion” first class and “Capital Pavilion” business class. “Forbidden Pavilion” first class has specific features to reflect the royalty, honor, and privacy associated with the Forbidden City. “Capital Pavilion” business class is focused on business and comfort associated with the Capital Palace, the imperial palace of the Tang Dynasty.
